A daring rebrand for the leading Motorcycle gear retailer.
After the dutch leading motorcycle gear retailer Motorkledingcenter was acquired by the RICHA group and subsequently renamed to MKC MOTO, I was asked to design and develop the brand and the website. The branding had to be reminiscent of the old Motorkledingcenter logo, but modernised and applicable in the current zeitgeist. The redesign and redevelopment of the website was built on the Lightspeed eCom system which was previously used for the old Motorkledingcenter website. Many additional custom made features such as the fully customised checkout and unique product selection were made in JS using the Lightspeed eCom API.

Hello MKC MOTO
To preserve the level of engagement the Motorkledingcenter brand enjoyed, I approached the redesign of the Motorkledingcenter logo with an emphasis on retaining its core essence. The new MKC MOTO logo is a reimagined, modernized, and simplified version of the original, while still paying homage to Motorkledingcenter. The typography is custom made and takes cues from sport/motorrace brands. Together they form the new MKC MOTO: ready for a global market.
The branding was meant to applicable in any format and medium. Large storefront prints had to be made for all 20 international stores along with new giftcards, employee apparel, product packaging, flags and standing banners.
The website was meant serve as source of inspiration for all types of motorcyclists. A cradle of information and a portal for those who seek to directly purchase the products and/or guide the customer to one of the many physical stores. Some UX best practices had to be sacrificed to achieve this purpose, but instead the customers were drawn in with big imagery, dark styling and bold typography. An increase of 150%+ in online sales and 50%+ brand recognition (GA) was eventually achieved.
